Marathon Petroleum - Firewater Tank Nikiski, Alaska
Epperheimer Incorporated was contracted to perform internal coating rehabilitation on a critical firewater storage tank requiring an accelerated return-to-service schedule. To meet the customer’s operational timeline, a fast-curing plural component coating system was selected and applied throughout the tank interior, including overhead rafters and structural components.
Due to the short pot life and temperature-sensitive nature of the materials, the project utilized glycol-heated equipment and insulated bundle hose systems to maintain proper product temperature and consistent application performance at the mixing manifold. Through detailed planning, specialized application methods, and efficient execution, the project was completed safely and on schedule, allowing the customer to return the tank to service within the required timeframe..
