Epperheimer Incorporated was contracted to perform internal abrasive blasting and protective coating applications on multiple 200+ foot diameter storage tanks during scheduled maintenance operations. The project utilized advanced Blastrac surface preparation equipment to improve production efficiency, reduce safety exposure, and significantly minimize overall project waste compared to conventional blasting methods.
The tanks were coated using high-build plural component systems requiring more than 1,000 gallons of material per tank. To support cold-weather application conditions and maintain continuous production, Epperheimer engineered a high-throughput plural component delivery system utilizing heated drum feeders and multi-drum supply configurations. The project was executed through coordinated day and night shift operations with full NACE coating inspection oversight while maintaining controlled environmental conditions through dehumidification and heating systems to ensure coating quality and long-term performance.
